United Way at Mississippi State

2011-12 Campaign

Picture of a member agency activity

As our recent Carnegie designation implies, MSU is involved in our community and The United Way is one such involvement. We know that the MSU community of faculty and staff take care of each other.

In the spirit of reaching out to make a difference in our community and using the power of one, we hope you will participate in the United Way campaign this year by making a pledge or contribution.

We hope you will make a pledge to help our neighbors. Only submit a pledge card if you are making a pledge.

You may want to pledge on line to set up payroll deductions. Do this by visiting the MSU United Way website at http://www.unitedway.msstate.edu/. On line pledges are the most confidential.

The most common pledge is a tax deductible contribution per pay period. We have added a couple of other options for payroll deductions, which can be selected at the website.

We encourage you to participate at any level, in any amount. If every employee at MSU would pledge at least $2.00 per pay period, we would exceed our goal of $100,000, so you can easily see the power of being united.

Our promise to you is that your gift will be kept confidential. Be sure you use your MSU ID number (instead of your social security number) on your pledge card. You can even designate your gift to your favorite United Way agency (circle on your pledge card or designate online)

Director of Athletics, Scott Stricklin, has donated 2 Season Baseball tickets, 2 tickets to any football game 2012 and two tickets to any Men's Basketball game 2011-2012. If you elect to give your 'fair share,' you will be eligible for these tickets (drawing will be held). A fair share pledge is one hour of salary per month (i.e. if you are paid $10.00 per hour, a fair share pledge would be $10.00 per month). You can visit http://www.unitedway.msstate.edu/fairshare.php and the calculator will determine your monthly fair share for you.

In addition to your pledge, there will be other ways to support United Way on campus this fall. Watch for information about the online Auction and a 5K run to be held October 22. Most MSU divisions are planning their own special events to have fun AND generate funds for United Way.

Thank you for supporting this campaign - 2012 Campaign Staff.
